Meanwhile the 27th Film Festival Vienna in front of the Viennese Town Hall offers this year for music lovers wide range from Opera to Pop. Classical lovers can look forward to Anna Netrebko, Plácido Domingo, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Lang Lang and many more, as well as to the Vienna Philharmonic, the Staatsopernorchester or the London Symphony Orchestra. Rock & Pop fans will be entertained by stars like Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Miles Davis, Quincy Jones, George Michael, Diana Krall, Depeche Mode and the Rolling Stones. Silent Cinema Uni Campus (Altes AKH)

In the immediate vicinity of our hotel, the “Silent Cinema” at the University Campus (Alte AKH) shows a colorful mix of films and new releases. Everyone gets their own headphones and has the choice of the dual sound, either in German or English OV.

One of the most beautiful open-air cinema in Vienna, the “Kino wie noch nie” (Cinema as never before) is located in the middle of the Viennese Augarten. The program includes classics and current productions. A special is dedicated to the Austrian cabaret artist Josef Hader. The Cinema Sessions are a classic silent film with extraordinary live music. Also new this year is the “Smartphone Film-competition”. Culinary delights in organic quality complete the offer.

Kino am Dach (Main Libary Vienna)

The roof of the Main Library Vienna on the Vienna Gürtel transform again this year in the highest Open Air Cinema in Vienna, the “Kino am Dach” (Cinema on the Roof). Austrian productions such as “Wilde Maus”, “Toni Erdmann” are also on the program as the cult films “Rocky Horror Picture Show”, the musical “Hair” or international productions like “Patterson”

Due to its location in the large castle courtyard in Simmering and with its historic ambience, the “Cinema at Schloss Neugebäude considered as the most romantic outdoor cinema in Vienna”. The most unusual, because the only Open-Air traveling cinema in Vienna is the “Volxcinema” to find at alternating venues between Gemeidebauten (Municipality building), Viennese markets, Parks or at Metro stations, it will be held for the 28th time this year ! Austrian and international play, documentary, short and animation films will be shown.
